ABOUT MARITZA
Meet Your Therapist
I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) and bicultural Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing counseling/therapy services to any individual ready to engage in therapy. I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, anger issues, emotional regulation issues, as well as other disorders. I have a special interest in assisting individuals with exploring and/or getting in touch with their spirituality, incorporating meditation in therapy treatment, as well as using holistic methods for healing.
I utilize evidence-based therapies to help individuals achieve their goals and develop effective coping skills. I am trained in CBT, DBT, Crisis Counseling, and Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Academically, I completed my Bachelors at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, went on to complete my Masters of Social Work at Dominican University. Shortly after obtaining my MSW, I became a Licensed Social Worker, and later becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am a Clinical Therapist with over 12 years of counseling experience. From starting my career in crisis counseling in 2007, to today, I have developed many clinical skills, lessons, and interventions needed to treat an array of mental, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual health matters.
